Arecanut worth `45K stolen from yard in Canacona

Some persons decamped with eight sacks of arecanut worth about Rs 45,000 from a godown of Bhagyatdar Yard at Nagarcem-Canacona.

According to a complaint lodged with Canacona Police, the culprits entered into the godown of Goa Bhagyatdar Sahakari Kharidi Vickri Saunstha Maryadit at Agriculture Produce Marketing Board Yard at Nagarcem by opening the shutter and decamped with eight bags of arecanut weighing 241.8 kgs.

The complainant, Goa Bhagyatdar Nagorcem in-charge informed the police that the theft took place sometime between 6 pm on December 10 and 8.15 am on December 12.
